Both Barrels have this week been at Olympia in London for Top Drawer 2018, as part of the event’s first carefully curated selection on ‘Men Only’ brands.
The convention began on Sunday January 14th and draws to a close on Tuesday 16th, and has been an excellent opportunity for Both Barrels to meet face-to-face with customers and existing friends of the brand.
As one of the leading UK exhibitions for thousands of brands across lifestyle, fashion, homewares, crafts and gifts, the 30-year history of Top Drawer means there are plenty of big names to be found among the convention stands, putting Both Barrels’ luxury luggage in good company.
Neighbours for our designer bags and laptop sleeves this time around included Oliver Spencer, gentlemen’s accessories tailor Leonie Worrell, who specialises in hand-crafted neckties, and the watch brand Junghans.
A showcase for Both Barrels
The entire Both Barrels brand was on display at Top Drawer, giving us some great feedback from UK and international retailers on our main wool series, limited edition Stealth Series and recently introduced Shadow Series, which made its public debut at the show.
Guests were especially impressed by the technical features of our luxury baggage, which includes careful pattern cutting and artisan hand-construction, as well as sensible design to make every designer bag or laptop sleeve as practical as possible during use.
For our own team, it was a chance to gauge the current position of the retail market and look ahead to a year of ambitious brand development and new retail partnerships at home and abroad.
Made in the UK
Following on from Both Barrels’ appearances at the Make It British Forum at Manchester Metropolitan University and the Best of Britannia show in London in October, it was great to be featured again as a ‘Made in the UK’ brand at Top Drawer.
This gave us an excellent platform to discuss our British materials and craftsmanship, and proud British brand heritage, all of which got a hugely positive reaction from visitors to our stand.
Looking ahead throughout 2018, we want to take our message further afield, with more UK appearances coming up including London’s Jacket Required, but also broader horizons with a Both Barrels presence at Pitti Uomo in Florence, Man in Paris and Capsule in New York all under consideration for this year.
