March in Manchester has been quite the month. In addition to the GCSE group at AGGS and undergraduate trade event at MMU, Both Barrels appeared at a second appointment. This time to guest lecture the Fashion Buying and Merchandising Masters students at Manchester Fashion Institute.
Tasked with six questions, which unfolded in to 18 questions, we discussed our product development process, product specification, sourcing and of course the challenges of building a UK Made brand from scratch.
Encouraging and informing a new wave of designers, developers and buyers is a key area of industry contribution for Both Barrels. In order to continually create something new, we must take our opportunities to use the platform to empower and be inspired by the next generation.
The industry is constantly and quickly evolving. It is important to stay connected to new ways of thinking, refreshed trains of thought, user behaviour adaptations and how best to meaningfully connect Both Barrels with communities, consumers and beyond.
Discussing the students’ thoughts on challenges, business development potential and innovative solutions helps to keep Both Barrels informed, inspired and directly connected to a new generation and the future leaders of the industry. It’s an amazingly privileged position to be in and a collaboration we are keen to cultivate and add to.
