Hello, and welcome to September’s blog. Just when we thought summer had moved in to autumn, the bright skies and warm rays have come flooding back! Punctuated by the usual Manchester rain, of course! This month’s round up features a new partnership, further details on product development & an outline of our activity planned for the rest of the year.
Field Ops Update
Following a brilliant response to our Field Ops insight team requests, we’ve been gathering feedback, recording observations and logging amends for future products.
Our Field Ops team are a brilliant bunch of real-life people living real lives. That’s exactly who our products are built for and it’s brilliant to be forming partnerships to create product which makes a genuine difference to working lives.

We’re thrilled to have been spotted and invited to join the fabulous collective of brands at Let’s Buy British. LBB curate a fantastic selection of exclusively British-made goods and we are delighted to be in such good company with brands sharing similar philosophies.
To be hand-picked by such a discerning, forward thinking, retailer is a real privilege and we’re looking forward to developing our partnership together. Our entire collection is available here – https://www.letsbuybritish.co/shop
Making in the UK
Manufacturing in the UK is one of our cornerstones. It’s something we’re rooted in, proud of and continue to support. Manufacturing in the UK, however, comes with difficulties. Most recently we’ve been developing new styles which build upon all of our insights over the last (nearly) two years.
Unfortunately, the factory we’d intended to partner with have gone out of business meaning we’re back to square one with our new developments. All is not lost however, we now have the opportunity to partner with alternative manufacturers and although it slows our product progress, it doesn’t diminish our spirits!
The cautionary tale, and stark reality, is that manufacturing in the UK is in a precarious place – the few remaining factories are doing an amazing job to continue to operate in such a challenging climate and UK brands must continue to use their expertise before risking losing them for good.
In cheerier, more optimistic news, the remaining 3 months of the year are looking action packed at BB HQ. As we head towards the end of the year we’ll be celebrating our second birthday (21stNovember FYI), introducing a new ‘Made in Manchester’ product and relocating to our (temporary & very posh) new home in Spinningfields, Manchester city centre.
It’s a really exciting time as the business, product and proposition continues to develop. Keep an eye on our social channels for snapshot updates 🙂
